Green winged orchid is a perennial herbaceous plant from the orchid family (Orchidaceae). There are two spherical tubers in the ground, one of which is young, nutritious, and the other, last year's, worn out, dark coloured. The older tuber bears an upright stem that is ridged, green in colour, often red-purple near the top, and can grow 10-50 cm in height.
