Aida Kaduna – a passion worth its weight in gold

Leaning on tradition, creating innovative works of art with wool fibres that combine vivid colors and intense emotions, a passion valued in gold. ‘Aida Kaduna’, a brand created from a hobby and love for nature and the natural, by the artist Aida Pašalić at Studio Paša, was founded in 2018. Virtuously intertwines wool felting as a traditional craft and innovation in the birth of a work of art.

Artistic painting with wool fibres in different formats and motifs. Like any artistic process, it begins spontaneously only with inspiration. Inspiration creates a further selection of colors and tones. She mainly uses a palette of some 6 - 7 colors, and the other tones are obtained by multiple overlapping of wool fibers. Just like when an oil painter mixes colors and gets a tone that reflects him, Aida also mixes many fibers of wool and creates living art
Since 1995/96, Aida has been engaged in design and branding with her husband Saladin. She herself worked for a long time and developed the very famous Dr. Pasha brand of natural cosmetics, which they later sold. Aida works in the house where they live or in the space of their design and branding studio - Studio Paša. Apart from the space where she will have a slightly larger desk, good natural and artificial lighting, space to store wool raw materials/fibers, scissors and tweezers, she doesn't need much. Finished works of art are either sold or hung in the Studio Paša area after framing.

Eight years ago, Aida attended a traditional wool felting workshop. She didn't really like or was impressed by the process itself, but experimenting with wool gave her a new idea and developed into an artistic expression of painting in the footsteps of Jill Harrison. And that is how from traditional wool felting and processing art from wool fibres was born. Being kind of a pioneer in this art, every day she learns something new by herself.
