The event brings together professionals from filed of heritage, science, design, production, policy, and arts with a goal of defining what the contemporary meaning of resources and sustainability is, and how the respective fields can intersect, and not only ask questions but provide solutions for challenges of mindful consumption.
The interdisciplinary symposium explores coastlines and marine environments through ecological, anthropological, geopolitical, and cultural lenses. The event encourages innovative ways of engaging with the sea, drawing from the ongoing Echoes of the Abyss project by Robertina Šebjanič that examines the environmental impact of munitions disposal in oceans and the complex human-ecological dynamics that affect marine ecosystems.

The MADE IN Dialogue event held by Nova Iskra focused on the artistic exploration of the future of technology and interdisciplinary collaboration in art.
The seminar by Drugo More explores the relationship between nature and human activities, with one panel delving into natural resources being used in construction and ways in which materials and traditional techniques can be useful in the modern world as well as addressing local deforestation, while the second panel will examine the sea as an attractive force in the tourism industry that transforms both the coast and the sea for short-lived pleasures.
Passa Ao Futuro explored, how can the collaboration between designer and craftsperson facilitate positive futures for ancestral arts and crafts in the context of the 21st century.
The event hosted by MADE IN partners MUO, Oaza, Drugo more at Nikola Tesla Technical Museum in Zagreb using the example of the Adriatic Sea delved into the exploration of sea-related resources. Diverse lectures covered topics ranging from marine ecosystems to the impact of tourism on the sea environment, shedding light on crucial environmental issues, offering insights into various aspects of sea exploitation and sustainability. The event showcased a multidisciplinary approach towards understanding and conserving the Adriatic Sea.
MAO Slovenija and Center Rog organised a special event and a round table highlighting the current situation of crafts and their connection with design in Slovenia. The public discussion with various experts, decision-makers, craftspeople and designers was intended for various stakeholders in the fields of crafts, design, architecture, art, museology and more. The aim is to raise awareness and encourage further cooperation in the field of preserving the rich European crafts heritage as well as exploring new means of disseminating traditional crafts knowledge and skills. The event also presented the activities all over Europe under the umbrella of MADE IN.
The conference organised by State Art Collections Dresden, Museum of Decorative Arts (SKD) was the official kick-off event of the Europe-wide MADE IN Platform for Contemporary Crafts & Design. The participating partners along with international experts from the fields of crafts, design and research discussed the future of crafts as an instrument for social and ecological change as well as manners of passing the knowledge of craftsmanship and heritage to future generations.
