The crash course designed by Trajna / Krater Collective consists of two workshops co-led by Debra Solomon, Urška Škerl, and Alen Mangafić, that explore urban biodiversity stewardship through innovative practices. They are designed to enhance understanding of urban ecosystem management and spatial interventions.

Over 100 applications from 21 countries highlight its appeal and focus on merging tradition with contemporary design.
In this residency by Passa Ao Futuro designer Henrique Ralheta collaborated with an esparto basket weaver craftsman Isidoro Ramos and in their collaboration they incorporated the doormat stitch, one of the unique techniques used in Esparto work - an art recently rehabilitated in Loulé. The residency was also made possible with the support of De La Espada that produced the wooden structure of Henrique & Isidoro pieces.
Inspired by the traditional elliptical or round shapes used in palm basketry, the collection resulting in the Passa Ao Futuro residency organised between designer Joana Astolfi and craftswomen Sónia Mendez & Susana Mendez is based on the simple gesture of folding them in half, creating a space for carrying or storing objects.
The collaboration between designer Christian Haas and craftsman Domingos Vaz during the residency organised by Passa Ao Futuro, created the mini-collection of cane baskets blurring the boundaries between craftsmanship and design.
In this residency organised by Passa Ao Futuro, designer Sam Baron and basket weavers Nuno Henriques and Sónia Henriques of Toino Abel got inspired by the junco bundle and Sam Baron's concept of utilizing the flower part of the reed has led to several innovations.
